The year marks the fiveth annual America Supports Your Freedom Walk – a new National Tradition to reflect on the lives lost September 11 and to renew our commitment to freedom and the values of our country and honor our veterans, past and present. The first Freedom Walk, held on September, 11, 2005, in our Nation’s capital, brought together more than 15,000 walkers – including family members of the victims of September 11, Members of Congress, administration officials, federal workers, corporate employees, civic organizations, and citizens from around the country. In 2006, communities in all fifty states and more than 130 cities hosted Freedom Walks. Young Marines have been doing this for 5 years, having only 5 people the first year and each year more walkers come and bring their flag to walk the Freedom Walk. So, come and join the walkers and bring a flag, let us remember those who lost their lives and support the men and woman who are serving for our freedom today.
